Sellsy lists $40 to $90 (€29–€79)excl. VAT per user per month for its Sales module billed annually, and up to $140 (€119)excl. VAT for the sales and invoicing bundle, with a 12-month commitment. A custom quoting tool costs $6,800 to $22,400 (€6,000–€20,000)excl. VAT once; for e-invoicing, rely on a certified platform.
Sellsy brings CRM, quotes, invoicing and cash management together in a single French tool. For many companies, it is a good choice. Others feel constrained: technical quotes with complex calculations, approval workflows, links to production. Here are Sellsy’s public prices, a 3-year comparison, and a clear recommendation on what you should not build yourself.
Sellsy public pricing
Prices checked in October 2026 on Sellsy’s pricing page. Prices are in euros, excluding VAT, per user per month, with a 12-month commitment.
| Plan | Annual billing | Monthly billing |
|---|---|---|
| Sellsy Sales Standard | €29 | €35 |
| Sellsy Sales Evolution | €49 | €59 |
| Sellsy Sales Elite | €79 | €95 |
| Sales and invoicing bundle, Standard | €49 | €59 |
| Sales and invoicing bundle, Evolution | €89 | €107 |
| Sales and invoicing bundle, Elite | €119 | €143 |
Important details. The bundle requires at least 2 users. The standalone Invoicing module showed no readable price when I checked, and the mapping of prices to the bundle looked ambiguous on the page: confirm it with Sellsy. E-invoicing is listed as included in the Evolution and Elite tiers of the Invoicing module.
The 3-year cost compared with custom software
Assumptions for this example, to replace with your own: 15 users, bundle at the regular annual price, no price change over 3 years. For the custom option: a quoting and invoice preparation tool at $16,800 (€15,000)excl. VAT, plus €3,000 a year for hosting and maintenance, excluding the certified e-invoicing platform subscription, which comes on top.
| Option | Annual cost | 3-year cost |
|---|---|---|
| Sellsy bundle Standard (€49) | $9,900 (€8,820)excl. VAT | $29,700 (€26,460)excl. VAT |
| Sellsy bundle Evolution (€89) | $18,000 (€16,020)excl. VAT | $53,800 (€48,060)excl. VAT |
| Sellsy bundle Elite (€119) | $24,000 (€21,420)excl. VAT | $71,900 (€64,260)excl. VAT |
| Custom tool ($16,800 (€15,000)excl. VAT + €3,000 a year) | €3,000 a year, plus the upfront investment, plus the platform | $26,900 (€24,000)excl. VAT, plus the platform |
On price alone, Standard and custom software are close. The gap widens with Evolution and Elite, or a larger team. But the real issue lies elsewhere: invoicing compliance.
E-invoicing changes the equation
According to the French Ministry of the Economy, all companies in France must be able to receive electronic invoices since September 1, 2026. Large and mid-sized companies must also issue them from that date; small and micro companies must do so by September 1, 2027. Invoices go through platforms certified by the tax authorities, listed on impots.gouv.fr.
My recommendation is simple: do not build your own e-invoicing pipeline. An off-the-shelf tool or certified platform keeps it up to date as the standard evolves. Custom software belongs upstream (quotes, calculations, approvals, links to production) and then connects to the invoicing solution. The page on mandatory e-invoicing in France covers this in detail. It does not replace advice from your accountant.
When to keep Sellsy
Keep Sellsy if:
- your quotes are standard: a catalog, quantities, simple discounts;
- the tool already covers your CRM and invoicing without double entry;
- you need e-invoicing right now without running a project;
- your team is small and the Standard plan is enough.
Custom software becomes relevant when your quotes require business calculations (measurements, technical options, bills of materials, customer-specific prices), when several departments must approve, or when reps re-enter in Sellsy what they already calculated elsewhere.
What a custom quoting tool costs
| Project | Scope | Indicative budget | Timeline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quote configurator | Catalog, calculation rules, PDF, quote tracking | $6,800 to $13,500 (€6,000–€12,000)excl. VAT | 1 to 2 months |
| Quotes and invoice preparation | + accounts and roles, approvals, export to invoicing | $13,500 to $22,400 (€12,000–€20,000)excl. VAT | 2 to 3 months |
| Connected sales management | + CRM, ERP, certified platform, accounting | $22,400 (€20,000)excl. VAT and up | 3 to 6 months |
These ranges follow my pricing. The full offer is on the quote and invoicing software page, and the estimator gives you a range for your case in one minute.
Where to start
- Gather three typical quotes, from the simplest to the most complex: they show where Sellsy limits you.
- Check your commitment end date to time any change.
- A 30-minute call to decide between keeping Sellsy, adding a configurator or replacing everything.
- Scoping (1 to 2 weeks): calculation rules, approval workflow, choice of invoicing solution, fixed quote.
- Mockups, development in batches, go-live, with three months of support included.
Frequently asked questions
Can we build our own e-invoicing software?
Technically yes, but I do not recommend it. Since September 1, 2026, invoices in France go through platforms certified by the tax authorities. A custom tool produces quotes and prepares invoices, then sends them through a certified platform or compatible software.
Does Sellsy require a commitment?
According to the pricing page checked in October 2026, plans carry a 12-month commitment, with annual or monthly payment, and a minimum of 2 users on the bundle. Check your exact terms before planning an exit.
How much does a custom quoting tool cost?
$6,800 to $13,500 (€6,000–€12,000)excl. VAT for a focused quoting tool (catalog, calculations, PDF, tracking), more if it connects to an ERP, a CRM and accounting. The code and rights are transferred to you once the project is paid in full.
Can we keep Sellsy and add a quote configurator?
Yes. That is often the most sensible option: a custom configurator handles your complex calculations, then sends the approved quote to your invoicing software, which stays in charge of e-invoicing.
